The car-ferry Bretagne is assigned to the daily link of Brittany Ferries between Saint-Malo and Portsmouth for a period of crossing 8.45am on average. She is also found on the line from Plymouth to Santander during the winter months. She is then replaced in Saint-Malo by the Pont-Aven .

The Bretagne may board over 2000 passengers and nearly 600 vehicles. She is powered by 4 diesel engines Wartsilla Vasa type 12V32E.

History


The Bretagne was the first ferry of a new generation of ferries, more luxurious. She was built in the Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire in 1989 to replace the Quiberon on the line Cork-Santander. She was replaced by the Val de Loire in 1993 and then joined the line Saint-Malo Portsmouth.
